Awarded to a business in the health, wellness and beauty sector that has demonstrated a commitment to excellence by consistently offering exceptional customer service, and could include consideration of staff knowledge, or a new or innovative product and/or service, or promotion of proactive lifestyle choices through educational programs and/or services offered, or demonstrates the importance of inspiring individuals to achieve optimal health.
Hospitality/Tourism Award Sponsored by Northumberland Economic Development and Tourism
Awarded to a business or organization that has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in the hospitality or tourism industry by consistently offering exceptional customer service and could include consideration of staff knowledge, quality of products and/or services offered, signage, marketing/promotion, features of facility, parking or accessibility.
Training and Skills Development Award Sponsored by: Workforce Development Board
This award recognizes a business or organization that is committed to investing in training and skills development. The business or organization will have clearly defined structures that encourage staff training and they are able to demonstrate the benefits they have achieved as a result of implementing skills development programs. This may include programs in apprenticeship training and cooperative education opportunities for students.
Accessible Customer Service Award Sponsored by the Trent Hills Accessibility Committee
This award recognizes a business or organization that has gone above and beyond to provide accessible customer service to people with various kinds of disabilities. The recipient will demonstrate how they have met or exceeded The Accessibility Standards for Customer Service (Ontario Regulation 429/07). The recipient may also demonstrate how they are working towards meeting the other standards: Transportation; Employment; Information and Communications; and Built Environment.
Skills and Development - Inclusive Community Employer Award Sponsored by: Community Living Campbellford/Brighton
Awarded to a business or an organization that demonstrates strong values and practices towards hiring person/persons with an intellectual disability, is dedicated to enriching the lives of others through employment. Demonstrates proactive efforts to support the employment of a diverse workforce (including persons with disabilities). Exhibits inclusive recruitment and retention practices. Evidence that the business or organization takes a leadership role in championing diversity and inclusion within their workplace and community.
The Trent Hills & District Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards are limited to businesses, organizations or individuals in the Trent Hills community, or a member of the Trent Hills and District Chamber of Commerce.
Nominations can be made by customers, employees or individuals that would like to express their appreciation of a Trent Hills business, organization or individual. A business or individual may submit nomination forms for more than one business, and a business may be nominated for more than one award, so long as the criteria is applicable to the nominee.
Self-nominations are not accepted. Nomination forms are available by contacting the Chamber or online at www.trenthillschamber.ca/businessawards. A business, organization or individual that sponsors an award is ineligible for that award.
The Award Nomination Form must be completed and submitted by Friday, March 23 at 5 p.m.

All nominees must confirm acceptance of their nomination and complete a Nomination Questionnaire. Failure to do so will make the nomination null and void. The questionnaires will be sent to nominees upon receipt of nomination.
Nominees and award recipients will be recognized at the Celebration of Business Excellence being held on April 28, 2012.
